Throughout October, we invite you to join Effingham Area Right to Life and churches throughout our community as we
pray and speak up for the dignity of every human life — from conception to natural death.
Join Us for the Annual Life Chain
Sunday, October 4 | Effingham Event Center (formerly KC Hall)
Our community will come together for a Prayer Service at 1:30 PM, followed by the annual Life Chain from 2:00–3:00 PM. Participants will peacefully line Fayette Avenue and Keller Drive as a public witness in support of LIFE. Signs will be provided, and refreshments will be served afterward.

Prayer Campaigns for Life
Many area churches are hosting Prayer Campaigns for Life throughout October. Watch your church bulletin for opportunities to sign up for hours of prayer and to volunteer at the Silk Purse Thrift Store, which helps support the life-affirming work of Family Life Center. Fasting and prayer are encouraged throughout the 40-day campaign.

Major pharmacy chains, online pharmacies, and distributors are now dispensing or distributing mifepristone for medication abortion. As an organization committed to protecting human life from conception to natural death, we believe pharmacies should provide care that protects both mothers and their unborn children—not participate in ending a pregnancy.
Your voice as a consumer matters. Some pharmacies and retailers have chosen not to dispense mifepristone for abortion, and we encourage you to respectfully ask companies that do to reconsider their policies.

The California Attorney General is seeking millions of dollars in penalties against pro-life organizations over the way they communicate about abortion pill reversal — and seeking to restrict what they are allowed to tell women if they change their minds after taking the first abortion pill.
This kind of government censorship could be coming our way in Illinois. And NOW is the time to do the legwork to stop it. llinois' veto session is just two months away. That may sound like plenty of time. It isn't.
We know how quickly legislation can move in Springfield. By the time a bill targeting abortion pill reversal is introduced, the lawmakers who will decide its fate may already have made up their minds. That's why they need to hear from us before a bill is introduced — not after.
If a woman takes the first abortion pill and then immediately regrets her decision, we believe she deserves the freedom to seek information about whether her pregnancy can still be continued.
